I continue to have this suspicion that the most interesting Apple-related news in 2013 won’t involve a television, but a wearable computing device. It’s starting to make too much sense. And they know that. And have known that.

Agree. The time is right this year.
It could well include ‘remote’ functionality for controlling said TV and any other iDevices too I’d guess - it would save looking for the existing Apple TV down the back if the sofa *again*..,
